Ikat and Suzani textiles date back for centuries, but they have grown to be wildly popular in the design scene over the past several years. I recently saw some ikat trays at Target, so you know the designs have really permeated our culture! I personally love the look and haven’t tired of it. I love the bold colors, textures and design. While I love bold looks like the one in the photo above, I generally find it better to use ikat and suzani with a little restraint—some pillows here, a couple of tea towels there.

What are your thoughts? Are you still loving these ethnic textiles or are you ready to move on to something else? Love them or leave them?
