{Even the devilish Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada loves Quadrille. The sofa is covered in Quadrille’s Melinda fabric in black.}
There are fabrics that become emblematic of a certain period or style. Every once in a while a pattern will come along that people go crazy for, like Kelly Wearstler’s Imperial Trellis or Schumacher’s Chiang Mai Dragon. Quadrille’s fabrics transcend trends. They have so many amazing, graphic patterns that date back for decades and look just as fresh now as they did then. With several collections including China Seas, Alan Campbell and Home Couture, Quadrille has become an icon in the design world. While their patterns are great any time of year, I can’t help but think of their collections of fabrics as perfect for summertime. Plenty of designers choose to make really bold statements with Quadrille fabrics, while others use a bit more restraint. How would you use Quadrille? Would you go over the top with it or add a small touch to a room?
