My Dream Home

I’m sure many of you do the same, keeping images of beautiful homes that inspire you to make changes in your own space or that make you dream of what could be. The other day, I was thumbing through the current issue of House Beautiful and I came across a home designed by <a href="http://www.communedesign.com/">Commune Design</a> in Los Angeles. I wanted to see more of their work, so I visited their website in order to check out their profile. The second that I saw this gorgeous house, I thought “that is my dream home! That house is so me!”. Granted, their work is a little too hip and eclectic for my taste, so I thought, what the heck, I’ll take the the house itself and “redesign” the interior. Seeing this gorgeous exterior inspired me to put together some images and create what would ultimately be my dream home. Keep in mind that there are discrepancies here and there. It belonged to LA fashion designer, Yael Alflalo who has since sold the property. Fabulous Room Friday 11.26.10

I am not usually the biggest fan of cool blue and grey hues, this room is truly stunning. I love that there are multiple, clearly-defined seating areas. There is also a palpable sense of glamour reminiscent of Hollywood’s Golden Age. As I reflect on what I am thankful for, all of my wonderful readers and your amazing outpouring of support for <a href="http://www.highglossmagazine.com/">High Gloss</a> immediately come to mind. I feel so blessed to be able to follow my dreams and to have so many incredibly supportive people cheering me on along the way.  I am always striving to share more personal things with you all, so I thought I’d share a few snaps of my Thanksgiving table. I haven’t finished setting it just yet, but I am super excited about venturing outside of the typical Thanksgiving color scheme this year. It all started with these Pomegranate ikat placemats in pink, purple, and red that I ordered from One Kings Lane. I decided to build upon that theme, but wanted to pull in a bit of fall, so I added pink and orange roses (a la High Gloss) in my Moroccan tea glasses for an added ethnic flare to go with the ikat. The glittered pumpkins give it a much needed dose of fall, otherwise this table setting could have applied to any other occasion. I still need to add the rest of the glassware, silverware, napkins, and place cards, but you get the idea.
