Hello LDV readers! Brendan here of (BAD) Blog About Design. For this Jet Set post I decided to take us to the city of love, Paris. The Hotel Marignan is located in the eight arrondissement of Paris on a quite street. The 40 room, 10 suite hotel, features a bar, restaurant, and private screening room. Designer, Pierre Yovanovitch transformed the interiors of the hotel into what he describes, "New French Style". (ABOVE) The outdoor terrace has a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel's location is very convenient, close to shopping, and near the heart of the Champs Elysees. The rich colored floors, boxwoods, and simple furnishings really give this terrace a special look. (BELOW 1) The lobby has a very retro look. I love the floors, and simplicity in the furnishings. The minimal amount of furniture makes the space feel larger, and also allows one to admire each piece. (BELOW 2) The bar is very minimal as well. Punches of red are found in what is otherwise a very neutral space. (BELOW 3) The restaurant plays with the subtle color theme. At the restaurant, one can sit in the morning and enjoy a complimentary breakfast. I really like the light fixtures, as well as the yellow arm chairs. The booth seating is awesome. (BELOW 4) I like how the simplicity of the hotel carries into the rooms. At the end of a long day in such a busy city, I want to come home to a space that doesn't make my brain spin in circles. The lighting on opposite sides of the bed is pretty interesting! What do you think of the hotel? Have you been here before?
