maison de luxe
Last week, I was lucky to be one of the bloggers invited by Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine to attend a private dinner and gala in honor of the Maison de Luxe show house at the historic Greystone Estate in Beverly Hills. The roster of designers involved in the show house reads like a veritable who’s who of the design world: Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Philip Gorrivan, Tim Corrigan, Mary McDonald, Nathan Turner, Kathryn Ireland, Oliver M Furth, Barclay Butera, Jamie Drake… the list goes on! The level of talent was evident in every room of this fabulous show house. If you live in the Los Angeles area, be sure to visit Maison de Luxe between now and December 22nd. You will not be disappointed!
The storied estate is one of the grandest homes in Beverly Hills at over 40,000 square feet in size. A murder took place in the home back in the 1920s which has led to stories of ghosts and hauntings, further adding to the estate’s allure. Couple all of that with the sumptuous, luxurious, and in some cases, avant-garde design dolled out by the talented line-up of designers and the result is a fabulous show house.

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon. That evening, we were treated to a fabulous dinner along with the Maison de Luxe designers at Sur, Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant in West Hollywood. Sadly, we did not see the “Real Housewife of Beverly Hills” or her little dog, Giggy. We did however, experience the Santa Ana winds in full force while we dined in the courtyard. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to snap any photos of the cool décor as the place was pretty crowded. A fabulous time was definitely had by all!

{The landing atop the grand staircase designed by Timothy Corrigan was another favorite of mine. I loved the unabashed use of red. Unfortunately, I had to use flash throughout most of the house, but believe me when I say this was beyond gorgeous in person. The shade of red was just perfect. How amazing is the light fixture he chose? Timothy also designed Greystone's foyer.}

{I had so much fun with these ladies! From left: Jennifer of The Peak of Chic, our friend, Colette, Nicole from SoHaute, and Me}

I really wish we’d had a chance to photograph the house in daylight as many of the rooms were dark and it was difficult to get good pictures, but you get the idea. Either way, I had a fabulous time and really enjoyed seeing the stunning Maison de Luxe, spending time with my fellow bloggers, and mingling with the designers. Thanks to the wonderful Luxe Interiors + Design team for the amazing opportunity!
